Unfortunate news rippled through the COS Virginia team a few weeks ago, regarding the passing of a great friend and colleague in saving Americans from the tyranny of the federal government, Randy Schmidt.
Randy had served with Convention of States Virginia for several years in different roles, the most recent of which was as Veterans Coalition Director.
Having previously served in the USAF, Randy retired as a lieutenant colonel.
COS Virginia Legislative Liaison Chris Walker reports:
Randy Schmidt was a patriot.
He was one of the first leaders I recruited to be a regional captain. Even though he lived in Williamsburg, he supervised the Virginia Beach region for us.
He was a key player in developing our state strategy. Regularly, he and I would talk about the strategy and coordinating about how to build the grass roots in Virginia Beach.
Randy was very intelligent and highly qualified to lead with his background in business and technology. He was a great asset and I found him to be an honorable man with a heart for Jesus. He loved America.
On our state leaders calls he often opened with the word of prayer, setting the tone for the meeting.
Randy later became our Veterans Coalition Director and did a great job of organizing veterans to help promote COS.
He was the main speaker at one of our hearings to the House Rules Committee and hit it out of the park! We owe Randy a debt of gratitude.I miss him very much and I thank him for his service.
The COS Virginia team sends their condolences to his family.
Randy labored to ensure liberty in America for future generations. The best way to honor Randy's memory is to carry on his legacy.
