It’s that time of year again.
Every legislative season, our opponents unleash their best and their brightest tin foil hatters to cue the dramatic music, dismiss the wisdom of the Founding Fathers, sound the alarm about the plot to use the Constitution to end the Constitution, and expose the big bad wolf in sheep’s clothing: Convention of States.
Serious thought leaders and staunch constitutionalists — including David Barton, Rick Green, David Horowitz, Randy Barnett, Mat Staver, Robert P. George, the Texas Public Policy Foundation, the Heritage Foundation, and many more — shake their heads and roll their eyes. The arguments against the Article V convention are, at this point, hardly worth contending with.
And yet, here we are.
Despite being utterly illogical, these arguments continue to frustrate our progress in the fight to end federal tyranny, restore self-governance, and preserve federalism. It’s about time we kissed the lunacy farewell. The Framers of the Constitution wanted this to happen (that’s why they unanimously approved the Article V convention clause). No doubt, they would be disappointed to see those who, while pretending to follow and revere the Constitution, stand in our way.
A side-by-side comparison of the experts pushing for an Article V convention and the charlatans who oppose us is, frankly, embarrassing for the latter. Watch the following video to see what we’re talking about, and ask yourself: Who do you trust?
It should be obvious.
