There are many imbecilic members of the U.S. House, but Rep. Cori Bush must be among the greatest.
As Mark Meckler pointed out on a recent episode of The Battlecry, Rep. Bush nonetheless performs a very important function: she says the quiet part out loud.
"She seems like she's fairly close to illiterate," he said. "More importantly, she is saying the quiet stuff out loud. [The radical Left] didn't used to admit that they're Marxists. Now, they're standing in solidarity with the people rioting and protesting and burning stuff down."
"They want the overthrow of the American system of governance. They do want to destroy the country, but in the past they haven't said it out loud," Mark said.
This elitist, hypocritical mindset is endemic among our nation's federal officials. They think they're better than us, and they believe they can impose rules on We the People that they don't have to follow.
Even worse, they believe their lives are more important than ours. They spend thousands of taxpayer dollars every year on private security while working to confiscate our firearms and defund the brave men and women of our police departments.
Enough is enough. Our members of Congress work for us. They exist to serve us, and when they're no longer doing their job, it's time for them to go.
We can and should vote for political candidates who we believe will adhere to the will of their constituents. But we can't stop there. Our national leaders need to be taken down a notch, and that's exactly what we can do with an Article V Convention of States.
A Convention of States is called and controlled by the states and has the power under Article V to propose constitutional amendments. Under the call proposed by the Convention of States Project (and so far passed in 15 states), states could call for amendments that limit federal power, limit federal spending, and impose term limits on federal officials.
These amendments could include provisions that force Congresspeople to follow the laws they pass. Amendments could be proposed that protect Second Amendment rights and that limit how long a politician can spend in D.C. Other amendments are on the table as well, such as those that shrink the size of the deep state and force Congress to balance the budget.
It's time for real reform in Washington. Our elected politicians won't get the job done, which is why the people and the states need to come together and call the first-ever Convention of States.
