Everyone wants lower health care costs, but no one agrees on the best way to do it.
Some -- especially certain presidential candidates -- believe we can lower costs via big-government programs.
But as former U.S. Senator Dr. Tom Coburn explains in the video below, that's not the way to go. Transparency is a much better strategy. Unlike government bureaucracy, more transparency in the health care system will lead to better care, more competition between providers, and, most importantly, lower costs.
We can stop the spread of government overreach via a Convention of States. An Article V Convention of States can propose constitutional amendments that shrink the power and jurisdiction of the federal government.
These amendments can prohibit the federal government from getting too involved in the healthcare system, freeing the marketplace to compete and provide the best possible care at the lowest prices.
