On Thursday, February 22nd, Minnesota Convention of States volunteers spent the day at the Capitol, House of Representatives, and the Senate Building meeting with our legislators and providing important information about calling an Article V Convention.

Each volunteer had their assignment:  1) visit key legislators' offices to talk about support for COS, 2) attend committee hearings and 'catch' legislators to arrange for one-on-one meetings with our COS Legislative Liaison, Steve Davidson, or 3) simply engage legislators in discussion to determine their position on calling a convention for proposing amendments.

By the end of the day, we had obtained tentative one-on-one meeting agreements from over 20 legislators! We also obtained two new COS supporters simply by engaging in conversation with them during the day!

We also received the exciting news that new Commissioner Selection legislation had been introduced by Senator Cal Bahr. Senator Bahr had submitted SF4068 that would provide the process for how Minnesota would go about selecting their commissioners to attend an Article V Convention and what penalties would be imposed on those commissioners should they not follow their instructions.

All in all, it was a successful and fun day seeing our legislators in action. Thank you to all who participated and made this event successful!
