Our federal government is in desperate need of reform. Congress does not represent everyday American citizens. The White House tramples on our liberty with overreaching executive orders, and the Supreme Court can't be trusted to check federal power.
Liberty-loving Americans understand that Washington is broken, and it must be fixed NOW. But sometimes, it's difficult for our state legislators to understand or acknowledge the severity or the immediacy of the problem. They're often content to maintain the status quo in our country, or they don't realize that they have the power -- right now! -- to fix these serious problems.
To help his Wisconsin state legislators understand our current situation, one Convention of States volunteer used an analogy that everyone can understand: car trouble.
Tell your state legislators that you want them to act NOW. A Convention of States can propose constitutional amendments that limit the power, scope, and jurisdiction of the federal government. These amendments can also force Congress to balance the budget, limit spending, cap taxation, and mandate term limits for career politicians.
