Dave Lockman and five of his friends visited a Wyoming legislative committee hearing recently to advocate for the Convention of States Resolution.
They and their families represent the courage and fortitude that have made our nation great. One of his friends had a grandfather who served under General George Washington at Valley Forge. Dave's father served in all 13 theaters of the South Pacific in World War II. The father of another man landed at Normandy Beach. Dave's brother served in Vietman.
"Our families have spent their lives defending our Constitution. And we're very concerend about the future of our Constitution based on what's happening today in Washington, D.C.," he said. "That's why we're here today."
"We don't have many tools left to preserve our Republic and the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, so our kids and grandkids can have a future in this great country," he continued, choking up.
Dave is right. We don't have any options left if we want to secure our country's freedoms for the next generation. We can't rely on the federal government to protect our rights--we must limit Washington's power with an Article V Convention of States.
