We at the Convention of States Project believe that self-governance is a crucial component to a healthy republic. But in order to exercise that decision-making power, we need transparency.
That applies to Washington, but it also applies to the medical field. Price transparency -- knowing exactly how much a medical procedure will cost -- is essential to reforming our healthcare system. Allowing the free market to drive down costs will only happen when doctor's offices work more like restaurants and less like federal bureaucracies.
A new proposed rule by the Trump Administration would go a long way towards making that happen, and we want YOU to let them know that you support this rule.
"Without information, individuals can’t make rational decisions," said Convention of States Action President Mark Meckler. "The health care industry in the U.S. today keeps us from knowing the prices of goods and services before we buy. This has to end. A predicate of self-governance is knowledge, which requires a free flow of information."
Convention of States Senior Advisor Dr. Tom Coburn has been fighting for this reform for years. Please let the Administration know that you want complete price transparency in health care.

This rule change isn't permanent, of course. The next administration can put us back on the road to socialized medicine -- unless we call a Convention of States.
A Convention of States can make these kinds of reforms permanent by limiting the power and jurisdiction of D.C. as a whole. We need amendments that expressly forbid the federal government from meddling in affairs not expressly outlined in the Constitution, and we can only do it with an Article V Convention of States.
