Two polls recently released by Gallup describe perfectly how the American people feel about the federal government.
First, on January 25, Gallup published a poll that shows "government/politics/poor leadership" is in increasing concern among Americans from both sides of the aisle.
Between December 2020 and January 2021, Republicans and Independents concern about government or leadership-related issues rose by 9 points, and Democrats' concern rose by 11 points.
Then, yesterday, Gallup published another poll showing a massive decrease in satisfaction among all Americans related to the size and power of the federal government and our system of government.
Clearly, something is very wrong in our country -- and a new president sure hasn't changed anything.
Americans from both sides of the aisle recognize that a corrupt, irresponsible Congress and an overreaching, power-hungry president aren't what our country needs. We need true reform in D.C., and the only way we're going to get it is by calling the first-ever Article V Convention of States.
A Convention of States has the power to propose constitutional amendments that limit the power, scope, and jurisdiction of the federal government and return that power to the states. That way, even if the federal government is corrupt or overreaching, it won't have the authority to ruin our country with socialist policies or run up the national debt.
We can't root out incompetence and corruption in D.C. But we can -- using Article V -- ensure that Washington's incompetence and corruption doesn't affect our daily lives.
