"Too moderate"?? AOC doubles-down on radicalism to explain why McAuliffe lost Virginia

Published in Blog on November 04, 2021 by Article V Patriot

When will radical socialist politicians learn that the American people have rejected their big-government agenda?

Apparently, not any time soon.

To explain why Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffle lost the gubernatorial election in Virginia, New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez slammed the candidate for running a "super-moderated campaign."

"Plus, on the election front. I actually think we have good news as well. I know that Virginia was a huge bummer. And honestly, if anything, I think that the results show the limits of trying to run a fully 100% super moderated campaign that does not excite speak to or energize a progressive base. And frankly, we weren't even really invited to contribute on that race," Ocasio-Cortez said in an Instagram story Wednesday evening, which has since been shared on other social media platforms.

For anyone who didn't follow the Virginia race, McAuliffe ran on the same radical progressive agenda embraced by AOC and her ilk. He said the government, not parents, should decide what is taught in schools. He called for fewer white teachers in Virginia public schools. And he pushed for some of the most extreme gun control policies in the nation

If this is a "moderate" campaign, we don't want to see what AOC has in mind for the future of the Democratic party.

Here's the truth: the Virginia election should be a warning to every big-government politician in DC. We the People won't stand for government bureaucrats controlling our lives. We won't comply with unconstitutional mandates, and we won't give in to the dictates of an all-powerful White House.

That's why Virginians voted for Glenn Youngkin, and that's why Americans across the nation have joined the Convention of States Project.

A Convention of States has the power to propose constitutional amendments that build a permanent firewall against big-government politicians like AOC. After we call and convene a Convention of States and those amendments are ratified after the convention, Democrats won't be able to run on radical progressive platforms because those policies will be clearly unconstitutional.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
