Three amazing Sunshine State leaders are on the rise for Convention of States. These patriots have helped build and maintain a strong Florida team, and Convention of States is so pleased to present them the highest honor: the COS Challenge Coin.
Richard Simo
Rich is an amazing patriot who believes in his heart he knows we must defend liberty. He has served as State Director and is Region Captain for the Orlando area.
Richard Simo joined the team in June 2016. He accepted the role of District Captain, then Regional Captain, and then he accepted the State Director role in August 2019.
Richard is a leader by example. He travels all over the state of Florida to meet face-to-face with District Captain applicants. He travels with his 3,000 page Constitution and handouts that he purchases himself to most every event in support of Regional Captains and District Captains. He spends time getting new petition signers, educating people wherever he goes. His pickup truck has "Ask Me About Convention of States" on its pickup doors.
Brenda Karlin
Brenda rose up like a sparkling new gem formed in the grassroots garden. She took on the State Grassroots Coordinator role in 2019 and has diligently worked with the team, building volunteers into active District Captains. She has a talent and quick wit to move the District Captain engagement in our state. She is always available, kind, and professional.
Dennis Darragh
Dennis is overseeing two regions and also helps in a District Captain role. He is well-versed in handling the technical aspects of running virtual meetings. Prior to COVID-19, Dennis held monthly face-to-face regional meetings with both regions combined.
He turned to virtual monthly meetings and has been conducting them since the lockdown. In January 2020 he set up at the Florida State Fair. Dennis and his volunteers added 1,400 petition signers. Dennis is very enthusiastic and and is all in for Convention of States. He is doing all this while working a full-time job.
Dennis gives of his time, talents, and goodwill to boost the role of liberty, encourage engagement, focus on what is important, and move the tide of positive influence in the state of Florida.
