If you don't believe the socialist threat is real, check out this op-ed written by Romanian immigrant Christian Ionescu and published on The Daily Wire.
Ionescu describes how the socialists in Romania convinced the population that big government was the solution to their problems, and their campaign plunged the country into decades of poverty and misery.
First, Ionescu explains, they took over education, entertainment, and the media to redefine poverty as "success":
In Romania for example, socialists redefined success, labeling affluence indecent and exploitive. Entrepreneurs and landowners were portrayed as parasites and thieves. Intellectuals were dismissed as dishonest mercenaries of the Capitalistic system and Religious people were considered a threat to the state for supposedly keeping people enslaved to fear and mysticism.
Then, they tried to convince the Romanian citizens that their prosperity was actually a bad thing:
In the middle of the most prosperous years of the Romanian Monarchy, bar the Second World War, Communists tried to make the Romanian people believe they were living a nightmare. They were not successful because Romanians knew better and were always skeptical of Bolshevism. It took the Soviet army forcefully exiling the King, deposing the Government, confiscating private property, changing the currency and plunging Romania into decades of suffering and misery.
Sound familiar? As Ionescu points out, socialists in this country have embarked on the exact same mission. They're in control of the entertainment, education, and media industries. And now they're trying to undermine our faith in the American dream, convincing millions of our fellow citizens that the most prosperous country in world history is actually a hellscape. If you need more proof, check out this footage of socialists at recent rallies across the country.
We need to build a firewall against socialism before it's too late. Right now, the federal government has the power to impose the socialist agenda. Thanks to bad Supreme Court decisions, the U.S. Congress can legislative on virtually any issue, allowing the socialists to implement their schemes the moment they gain control of Congress.
The only way to reverse these bad decisions is via constitutional amendments, and the only way to get those amendments is with a Convention of States.
An Article V Convention of States is called and controlled by the states and has the power to propose amendments that limit the size, scope, and jurisdiction of the federal government. These amendments can clarify the small, limited role the Founders envisioned for the national government and ensure that the social "utopia" never comes to America.
