The original Constitution is a pocketbook. The current one is an encyclopedia.

No one in the country can better explain the causes of our current national crisis than Mark Meckler.

Mark has been studying American history his entire life, and he's been close to the American grassroots since he led the Tea Party movement in the early 2000's. That combination of life experiences gives him a crystal-clear perspective on the problems in our country, and he's dedicated his life since 2013 to implementing the best solution: an Article V Convention of States.

As Mark explained recently to a Wisconsin legislative committee, the Founders feared one thing above all else for their new country: a strong centralized government. They knew that strong governments tend to accrue more power and soon become tyrannical.

In our country, the federal government has gathered more power to itself via bad Supreme Court decisions that unilaterally amend the Constitution without approval of the people or the states. This new Constitution gives Washington the power to legislate and spend money on virtually any topic, regulate Americans into bankruptcy, and force the states to comply with federal mandates.

The only way to reduce the size of this encyclopedic Constitution is to amend the Constitution the right way: through an Article V Convention of States.

Mark explains everything in the video below.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
