The FBI Is Being Weaponized Against Journalists and Everyday Americans

Published in Blog on November 17, 2021 by Article V Patriot

Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe has become the latest target of government overreach in a situation jeopardizing his First Amendment rights and the rights of all journalists who seek to report factually and transparently to the public.

Project Veritas has conducted many undercover investigations which have exposed the inner workings of many organizations from local school districts to CNN to Pfizer. O’Keefe, a Convention of States endorser, has become a hindrance to not just these organizations but also the biased liberal media, which has a hard time twisting raw video footage to fit their narrative.

Because of this, he has become widely known and widely hated in left-wing circles, and the most recent government act toward O’Keefe shows just how intimidated they are by his undercover work.

Biden’s FBI showed up at the journalist’s home with a search warrant early Saturday morning to investigate his involvement in the reported theft of Ashley Biden’s missing diary – the daughter of Joe Biden. They also raided two other former Project Veritas associates' homes just days before.

"This is an attack on the First Amendment by the Department of Justice," O'Keefe said on Fox News. "I'm calling upon all journalists to take a stand against this. A source comes to us with information, I didn't even decide to publish it. If they can do this to me, if they can do it to this journalist and raid my home and take my reporter notes, they'll do it to any journalist.”

O’Keefe bought the rights to publish the materials from tipsters who originally obtained the diary. The organization decided to not run the story and instead turned the material over to local law enforcement. Yet, the FBI for some reason was still instructed to show up and send a message to an emerging threat.

To control the media is to control the minds of the public, and if the Biden administration is directing their own federal agencies to take action against any media outlets obstructing their plans, no press has any real authenticity of grounds for public trust.

Journalists aren't the only group under threat from an overreaching FBI. Parents are also in the agency's crosshairs.

A whistleblower recently revealed that the FBI has been targeting parents who are standing up for their children at school board meetings. FBI personnel have been directed to use a “threat tag” to track and investigate possible concerns related to parents or anyone else essentially attacking school board administrators, board members, teachers and staff.

This revelation confirms how far the agency will go to help their liberal counterparts successfully carry out an agenda against conservatives. Whether it’s attacking opposition journalists or even parents, the FBI has clearly shown that it will do whatever it takes to silence anyone who is in the way of the progressives.

These are just additional examples of how far the federal government has departed from America’s founding values. The First Amendment right is at enormous risk, something every conservative has seen first hand on social media platforms. Journalists, apparently, aren’t immune from the same kind of censorship and intimidation.

If we lose an open and transparent press that is free to run the stories even if that means bad publicity for politicians and other leaders, we don’t have the ability to be free in our words, thoughts and opinions. If we live in fear of federal law enforcement arresting and prosecuting us for defending our children, we've lost everything that we hold dear in our country.

That’s why millions of Americans have joined the Article V Convention of States movement. A Convention of States can rein in the out-of-control federal government by proposing constitutional amendments that prevent federal officials from operating under power-hungry, self-serving agendas.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
