The biggest takeaways from EVERY episode of COS at Home

Published in Blog on January 16, 2024 by Article V Patriot

Over the past 37 months, Convention of States has been inviting your favorite COS endorsers, sponsors, and commentators into your homes for intimate conversations about all things Article V. As we eagerly anticipate tomorrow's return to the show with Congressman Chip Roy (register here), I took the opportunity to revisit EVERY past episode of COS at Home and spotlight standout moments from each one.

We’ve been blessed to learn from many wise leaders, beginning with:

Mark Meckler - December 2020

“There’s nowhere that you can find in the Founders’ writings where they said, ‘You should vote and then not be involved in anything else. You should vote and then not pay attention to the policies being enacted. You should vote and not be engaged in any civic organizations.’ The Founders never said that. In fact, the Founders said the exact opposite. It’s not about your vote — your vote is the baseline. It’s about what else are you doing to preserve the Republic?”

Pete Hegseth - January 2021

“[Convention of States] is a passion project for me because I think it’s the way we save our Republic.”

Daniel Horowitz - February

“What we are doing is not working, and that should be abundantly clear. Tyranny continues to grow. Basic human rights are taken for granted. We don’t really have a voice. This is where Convention of States comes in. The idea is, the solution is not in Washington.”

David Barton - March

“Principles do not change. Technology is all that changes. The principles don’t change, and our Founding Fathers [were] wise enough and studied enough of history and human nature to know [how humans behave]. So, there’s nothing in the Constitution that deals with technology. It’s all principle-driven.”

Rep. Bill Taylor - April

“This is not about Republicans and Democrats. This is about who controls change that needs to occur.”

Steve Deace - May

“There's not enough of us to just be a silent majority anymore, where we just sit by and let the system run amuck for a couple of years.”

Prof. Rob Natelson - June

“The winds of fascism, right now, are running very strong. One thing that the Convention of States movement can say is that it represents the best opportunity to respond to, and to defeat, the threat of American fascism.”

Rick Green - July

“[The Founding Fathers] sacrificed. They didn't have to. Most of them were wealthy. Most of them had freedom. They were at the upper echelon of society. And yet they were willing to give all of that up to launch freedom for the next generation.”

Lt. Col. Allen West - August

“This is not a period of weeping and wailing. We need to see the strength in ourselves — each and every American — and you can have that strong grassroots movement.”

Sen. Rick Santorum - September

“Yes, we're a great country, but we've allowed our values, our virtue, our morals, to decline and decay. We need to get America back to being that shining city on the hill. That country that is moral, that believes in truth and is willing to fight for truth.”

Jason Girard - October

“Progress is impossible apart from hard work and sacrifice. If you want your country to be a better place, but you're not willing to work hard for it — you're not willing to make any sacrifices for it — then, sorry, it's not gonna get better.”

Pete Hegseth - December

“My biggest message is: Be urgent. Be aggressive. But be patient. It's got to be the right people at the right time, chipping away at states, adding to those numbers. And, God willing, we [will] get there.”

That’s all for today, folks. For more hope-inspiring quotes and wisdom, be on the lookout for volume two of this series coming soon. And in the meantime, be sure to tune into tomorrow’s episode of COS at Home with Rep. Chip Roy. We’ll see you there!

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
