The following was written by District Captain John Dahmen.
On Tuesday, February 12, 2019, Regional Captain (NoVa South) Scott Camden, District Captain (HD54) John Dahmen, and District Team Member (HD54) Trevor Wells testified before Spotsylvania County Board of Supervisors.
The Convention of States volunteers asked the board to agree to a resolution "that Virginia be added to the roll of States adopting resolutions in support of Article V Convention to consider amendments restoring authority and resources to State and local governments."
David Ross, Courtland District Supervisor, led the Board of Supervisors to pass Spotsylvania's first resolution of 2019 (resolution 2019-001), by a vote of 5-2.
Spotsylvania becomes the second county behind New Kent to pass resolutions in support of an Article V Convention of States. The first county to support Convention of States was Prince William.
As with everything we do in Convention of States Virginia, this was a collaborative effort.
