New Kent County Board of Supervisors unanimously supports Convention of States

Published in Blog on August 16, 2018 by Laurie Wheeler

On Monday night, August 13, New Kent County's Board of Supervisors (BOS) unanimously approved a resolution supporting a Convention of States.

New Kent is the second county in the Commonwealth of Virginia to do so, with Prince William County being the first.

Joining Regional Captain Russ Beyer from the Convention of States Virginia team was Veterans' Coalitions Director Randy Schmidt and District Captain Kevin Rasmussen. Rounding out the team's attendance were numerous constituents who are also COS supporters.

After a highly passionate speech from COS supporter Phyllis Crum, and then an informative power point presentation and Q&A led by Regional Captain Russ Beyer, the New Kent BOS unanimously passed the local/municipal resolution of support for a Convention of States.

The unanimous passage was the only item of the night to generate applause by the attendees.

The local resolution is further proof for Virginia legislators that the people want the states to pass their applications.

Virginia has over 31,000 COS supporters. It is our growing numbers that will convince state legislators to employ their unique role to restrain the federal leviathan.

We need your help to do this. Sign our petition then become a District Captain.

As you can see we are not Lone Rangers, but teams of fellow patriots working together to ensure liberty for future generations.
