Anyone familiar with the workings and trappings of Washington, D.C., would be excused for thinking it was the Emerald City from "The Wizard of Oz" and that we're certainly not in Kansas anymore.
Who are the people who have been heading to work along the yellow brick roads of one of the richest regions on the planet and hiding behind the curtains in ornate buildings churning out endlessly burdensome legislation and regulations that erode our freedoms and diminish us as citizens?
Just as importantly, how do we return to the first principles of limited government?
On February 3, Kansas has a chance to help us get back home.
The Kansas Senate Committee on Federal State Affairs will hold a public hearing to consider Senate Concurrent Resolution (SCR) 1604 -- the COS resolution to call a limited-purpose Article V convention that will discuss and propose amendments to reduce the size and scope of the federal government.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 11:45 ET/10:45 CT and you can watch and listen via COS LIVE:
Convention of States Action co-founder and senior adviser Michael Farris is expected to join COS Kansas grassroots activists in testifying in favor of SCR 1604.
