Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has big plans if the Democrats can wrest control of the Senate from Republicans.
Right now, Republicans can maintain power in the upper chamber if they win one of two runoff races in Georgia. But if the Democrats can flip both seats blue, they'll hold complete power over Congress and the White House (assuming Biden maintains his win).
“Now we take Georgia, then we change the world,” Schumer told a crowd of New Yorkers at a celebration in New York City for Biden's projected election victory.

Schumer's attitude in this statement follows that of all the radical revolutionaries before him. It isn't enough to maintain the freest, most prosperous nation in the history of the world. It isn't enough to get out of the way and allow the American people to continue governing themselves. Schumer wants to change the world, to remake our country from the ground-up.
This is totally contrary to the values and principles that have made our nation great. The American War for Independence wasn't a revolution to radically change how our country operates -- it was a fight to maintain our right to self-governance, to keep things as they were.
Convention of States Action President Mark Meckler tells the story of a solider in the War for Independence named Levi Preston. When he was asked many years after the war ended why he and his fellow Americans took up arms, his answer was simple: "We had always governed ourselves, and we always intended to."
Our country isn't about revolution. It's about the power of the American people to govern themselves. That's what we're all about at the Convention of States Project. We want to amend the Constitution, but not to change the way our country operates. We want to protect the values and principles enshrined in our founding document by the founding generations. Principles like limited government, the separation of powers, fiscal responsibility, true statesmanship, and the sovereign power of We the People have made our country great, and we're not about to give those up.
