For the last two years, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the highest paid federal employee, has acted like a dictator.
The health bureaucrat has handed down dictates followed by thousands of state and local governments across the country. Many of his pronouncements were wrong or misleading. Some resulted in additional death.
Fauci is not elected. We can't vote him out during the next midterm election. That's why Convention of States Endorser and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has introduced legislation that would eliminate Fauci's position in the federal government.
Sen. Paul's legislation would split the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) into three separate agencies, each with their own head. This would effectively fire Fauci from his position and replace him with three far less powerful bureaucrats.
"We’ve learned a lot over the past two years, but one lesson in particular is that no one person should be deemed 'dictator-in-chief.' No one person should have unilateral authority to make decisions for millions of Americans," said Sen. Paul.
We couldn't agree more. Unfortunately, considering the makeup of the current Congress (not to mention the spinelessness of most congresspeople), Sen. Paul's idea is unlikely to go anywhere. Deep State bureaucrats are entrenched for life, and it's incredibly difficult to extract them from office.
That's why millions of Americans have joined the Article V Convention of States movement. A Convention of States is called and controlled by the states and has the power to propose constitutional amendments. These amendments can shrink the size, scope, and jurisdiction of the federal government, including health agencies.
It will be like Sen. Paul's bill ousting Fauci, only covering the entire federal government.
