Convention of States, the nationwide grassroots movement advocating for an amendments convention under Article V of the U.S. Constitution, is extending its outreach to Hispanic Americans with newly developed Spanish resources.
Millions of individuals across the United States trace their heritage to Hispanic roots, including over 15 million in California, 12 million in Texas, six million in Florida, and nearly half of New Mexico’s population. An estimated 42 million Americans speak Spanish as a first language, while 15 million more have adopted it as a second language. Leaders within Convention of States have identified this pivotal demographic as a primary audience to engage with the message of COS, translating several documents into Spanish to educate them about Article V and the grassroots effort to save America.
Given that Spanish is the second most spoken language within our borders, it’s a natural step to adapt some of our most popular resources, including the pocket guide, COS flyers, and petitions, into Spanish. Additionally, grassroots leaders have devised a comprehensive plan to ensure the widespread availability of these resources in the states with the largest Spanish-speaking populations in 2024.

One such resource, the Slam the Door on Socialism flyer, aims to educate readers about the harmful effects of socialism, which has afflicted numerous Latin American countries. It emphasizes the urgent need to use Article V to combat the encroachment of socialism in America. By offering the widely popular COS petition in Spanish, we open the door for a whole new demographic to join the grassroots-led effort to promote self-governance and end federal overreach.
“Even though so many native Spanish speakers read and speak English, we have provided these translations so that those who want a deeper understanding of COS can read about it in their native tongue,” explained Convention of States President Mark Meckler. “This increases the chances for a native speaker to gain a deeper understanding of Article V.”
