Report: Schools execute "bait-and-switch" to use COVID-19 taxpayer money for CRT training

Published in Blog on January 05, 2022 by Article V Patriot

Remember last year when President Joe Biden and his allies in Congress airlifted billions of taxpayer dollars to public schools so they could "reopen safely"?

“We can [open schools] if we give school districts, communities, and states the clear guidance they need as well as the resources they will need,” Biden said at the time.

Well, they got their money. Taxpayers sent them about $130 billion to install the infrastructure and resources they needed to ensure that, when the next COVID wave hit, our nation's children wouldn't be forced back into "virtual learning" (virtual, in that it wasn't happening).

Now a new report from the Daily Wire reveals that not only are many school districts refusing to open this semester, many used the "COVID relief money" to push racist Critical Race Theory on our kids.

Chicago earmarked $32 million of ARP money to a “comprehensive, culturally responsive curriculum” developed “through the Curriculum Equity Initiative.” The union is voting Tuesday on whether to switch to remote learning.

Milwaukee allocated $24 million of its ARP money to “Social Emotional Learning,” including $100,000 for “Anti-Racism and Bias Professional Development.” It will not be conducting classes in person until at least January 10.

A review of the proposals submitted by states and approved by the federal government shows that their plans for supposed coronavirus money are littered with CRT-infused ideas. For example:

California earmarked $1.5 billion to provide school districts with “training resources for classified, certificated, and administrative school staff in specified high-need topics, including accelerated learning, re-engaging students, restorative practices, and implicit bias training.”

That's only a short sample of the states and districts who used your money to indoctrinate your kids in ideologies you may not agree with.

This is the worst kind of government waste. At a time when the country is $29 trillion in debt and the economy is struggling, the federal government is allowing our money to be used to promote a radical political agenda.

It doesn't have to be this way. We can force Congress to be fiscally responsible, to manage the debt, and stop wasting our money. Neither party in Washington is willing to put these reforms in place, but the states can do it themselves at an Article V Convention of States.

A Convention of States is called and controlled by the states and has the power to propose constitutional amendments that impose fiscal restraints on Congress. Will our elected officials allow state politicians to waste our money when they have to balance the budget every year? Will they spend money on useless projects when they can no longer raise taxes to cover the difference? Will they spend money on CRT training when the Constitution explicitly prohibits such activity?

They might try, but they won't succeed. We the People will hold them accountable, and they'll do it with the power of Article V.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
