Convention of States relationships were taken to the next level at the Lucky 13 Regional Summit in Kansas City, Missouri, last weekend where approximately 30 activists gathered for a three-day team-building event.
The in-person gathering allowed team members from 13 different states (AL, AK, AZ, AR, FL, GA, LA, MO, MS, TN, TX, UT) that have already passed the Convention of States Resolution to assemble in a family atmosphere to develop deeper connections. In addition, Indiana Legislative Liaison Marty Wood attended as an honorary Lucky 13 member for the weekend
Tennessee State Communications Coordinator Jim MacDonald praised the informal setting that provided an opportunity to forge new friendships, bond over meals, and engage in meaningful fellowship, solidifying the sense of unity.
“The Convention of States Passed-States Summit was truly an outstanding event. Gathering with a small, passionate group of like-minded patriots created a unique atmosphere of camaraderie and shared purpose,” commented MacDonald.
On day one the entire team went to the National World War I Museum, which was highly admired by all. On days two and three, the team sat down for structured meetings and collaborative sessions. A major difference from the previous summit held in Nashville two years ago was the interactive breakout sessions. This time around, there were three different breakout sessions where leaders broke out by role and had the opportunity to dialogue with other state teams and exchange ideas on how to effectively implement strategies back in their respective states.
The group valued the collaborative spirit not just because they took away new ideas but also because it reminded everyone that there is a shared commitment to the cause; patriots across the nation are united in their dedication to preserving our nation’s fundamental principles.
The group was introduced to the new Passed States Resource Page, something State Grassroots Coordinator Bennie Salkil said will prove to be incredibly valuable for all who take advantage of it. Salkil also applauded the informative presentations from staff members including Communications Director Nicole Rardin and Legislative Associate Paul Phillips.
In reflecting on the summit, MacDonald offered words of motivation that many Americans are eagerly seeking to hear during these challenging times:
“In the end, the summit served as a reminder that there are passionate individuals in every corner of the country, each dedicating their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to the cause of the Convention of States. Knowing that there are allies in other states who share the same unwavering commitment provides a deep sense of comfort and solidarity in the ongoing fight for a stronger, more principled nation.”
Jim MacDonald’s words are a wonderful reminder that the people are showing up and advancing a pro-liberty cause that will save our nation’s future. It’s up to each individual to sign the COS petition located below, take action, and help push back against government overreach.
