“Producer G” — a moniker you’ve probably heard before if you’ve watched any COS broadcasts — is perennially in tune with a good story. Video Production Director for Convention of States Action, Garrett Humbertson does more than just make YouTube videos and coordinate live streams (although he does that, too); he also crafts narratives, documents history, and weaves the chronicles of the COS grassroots in their long and arduous war on tyranny, tapping into the ancient power of good old-fashioned storytelling to do so.
“This is history in the making,” he said. “We’re telling the story of how We the People are taking back our country from the corrupt elitists in D.C. It’s the best story that can be told in America right now. We need to spark hope and inspire meaningful action.”
A story, Garrett knows, can do that. It can spark hope and inspire change in a way that mere news reporting often cannot. Audiences buy into stories — they want the good guys to win, the bad guys to lose, and truth, justice, and goodness to prevail. A story casts the everyday players and factors in what might seem like a routine political struggle into those compelling roles and terms.
And indeed, the level of patriotism, commitment, bravery, and sacrifice displayed by the grassroots on a regular basis is truly heroic. They are the real champions of this story, metaphorically, the knights in shining armor who ride in to save the Republic.
“These heroes are not paid by anyone,” observed Garrett about the men and women he spotlights on COS NOW, a weekly offering of updates about Convention of States. “They just believe in their nation and are committed to do what is necessary to secure America’s future,” he added.
COS NOW, an easily digestible, hope-imbued montage of Article V-related news, takes the tireless efforts of the grassroots and, in five minutes or less, adapts them into story form. While the media is so often out courting the attention of the rich and powerful and elite, Garrett instead chooses to focus his lens on the unsung heroes who populate the self-governing citizen army.
“There’s so much negative news out there, and people are just being black-pilled on the left and the right,” he said. “So many people are losing hope. They need to know that there is a solution that unites us.”
“Everyday citizens are getting off the couch and into the game with Convention of States, using the constitutional solution that’s as big as the problem. COS NOW shows you how we are working to restore self-governance and freedom in America.”
Week after week, that’s the story he tells. The man behind the curtain, Producer G directs our attention to the men and women — the patriots and difference makers — out toiling in the field, setting brushfires of freedom. Consider him our resident bard — only armed with a camera instead of a lute.
