After three years of service to Virginia House District 24, Delegate Ronnie Campbell passed away after a battle with cancer.
In a news release, Gilbert called Campbell “a good man and dedicated public servant.”
“A detail from one of my last conversations with Ronnie speaks volumes about the kind of man he was. His biggest worry wasn’t the disease attacking his body, or any concern over what comes next,” Gilbert said. “No, Ronnie was worried that he wouldn’t be able to make it to Richmond to do his job, to be the voice for his constituents that they elected him to be. Just hours before his passing, he was working to see that the legislation he had prepared for the upcoming session wouldn’t fall by the wayside if for some reason he couldn’t be with us.”-Virginia Mercury
In the three years that he served, Delegate Ronnie Campbell consistently patroned the COS resolution before the General Assembly.
Recently elected Delegate Ellen Campbell now serves House District 24, "pledging to continue fighting for the legislative priorities of her late husband, Del. Ronnie Campbell" as reported by WDBJ7.
On a recent state capitol visit, District Captain John Brandt (HD24) presented a plaque to Delegate Ellen Campbell for Delegate Ronnie Campbell's service as patron for our COS resolution.
Joining DC John Brandt were several members of the COS Virginia team.
As promised, Delegate Ellen Campbell added her name to the list of sponsors for HJ457.
The legislative session has ended with each of our COS resolutions sitting in committee.
Since this is election year for the entire General Assembly, who will be our legislative sponsors next year?
