Fox News' Pete Hegseth joined Minnesota Rep. Cal Bahr recently to discuss the Convention of States movement on the Justice & Drew radio show. It was a great segment, and we wanted to share it with everyone.
Justice & Drew jumped right in to the question many people have about an Article V Convention of States: "Do you have any level of concern that the wrong things will be done at a Convention of States?"
Pete answered immediately.
"No I don't, because of the very narrowly tailored nature of these resolutions. And the fact that there are plenty of built-in accountability mechanisms--from the state legislatures having to approve them, choosing the delegates that attend the convention, and the ability to recall those delegates if they deviate at all from their charge."
Rep. Bahr also noted that the Founders knew D.C. could get out of control, and they included the Convention of States option in Article V for exactly this situation.
"The Founders knew that D.C. could get out of control, and the Founders gave us a way to check that in," he said.
