Pelosi spent $500,000+ on private jets while scolding Americans for failing to address "climate change"

Published in Blog on February 07, 2022 by Article V Patriot

The American people were treated to an insane amount of "do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do" hypocrisy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lockdown politicians fled to Florida to escape their own draconian policies. Governors who promoted masking children in schools were caught mask-less at crowded indoor parties. And who could forget Rep. Nancy Pelosi's infamous haircut at a locked-down salon?

Madame Speaker Pelosi has been caught with egg on her face once again, this time in a campaign finance investigation by Fox News.

Even as Pelosi was claiming that fighting climate change is a "religious thing," she was chartering private jets to the tune of $500,000.

According to campaign filings with the Federal Election Commission, Pelosi’s campaign paid a Virginia-based private aviation provider, Advanced Aviation Team, over $437,000 between October 2020 and December 2021 and over $65,000 to Clay Lacy Aviation, a California-based private jet provider.

The hypocrisy is so thick you could cut it with an ice cream scoop. On the "Energy and Environment" page on Pelosi's website, she describes climate change as an "existential threat" that we have a "moral" obligation to address.

Democrats know that combatting the existential threat of the climate crisis is a public health decision to safeguard our clean air and clean water; an economic decision to create jobs and ensure America’s global preeminence in green technology; a national security decision to prevent global instability; and a moral decision to be good stewards of God’s creation.

And yet, she chose to fly on private jets, which are notoriously bad for the environment. Unlike commercial flights, which transport hundreds of people at once, private flights only carry eight or 10 people at a time. This pollutes the environment at a much higher rate and, according to Pelosi, increases the impact of climate change.

Nancy Pelosi believes she is immune from feeling the consequences of her rank hypocrisy. She knows her constituents in deep blue San Francisco will continue to elect her, and she knows Congress will never pass a term limits amendment to vote them out of office.

That's why we need to call an Article V Convention of States. A Convention of States is called and controlled by the states and has the power to propose constitutional amendments. These amendments can limit federal power, impose fiscal restraints on Congress, and most terrifyingly for Swamp Monsters like Pelosi, mandate term limits for federal officials.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
