“Give me a child till he’s seven, and I will show you the man.” - Aristotle
What's Going On Here?!
The bad news is America’s classrooms have devolved into cesspools of manipulation. Drag shows, pornography, critical race theory, gay and transgender agendas and Marxist philosophies are just a sampling of syllabus items being pushed on ELEMENTARY school children. Schools that once provided students equal opportunity through basic learning (reading, writing and arithmetic) are being transformed into indoctrination camps.
The good news is the pandemic remote learning fad opened the eyes of American parents who saw firsthand how deviant the modern day classroom had become. Moms and Dads were outraged that school boards were pushing sexual filth, racism and climate-catastrophe onto children who were just beginning to eat properly with utensils. As the old adage goes “Knowledge is power.”
Why Is This Happening?
Aristotle’s quote indicates how easy it is to manipulate children into conforming with the teacher’s agenda. Adolf Hitler boasted “He alone who owns the youth, gains the future.” The reason for child manipulation via the classroom can be distilled down to one word/concept: control.
Older Americans progressed through an educational system grounded in classical learning. Laura Hollis summed up traditional expectations for our schools:
“The proper role of the educational system is to ensure that students are proficient speakers and readers of English, capable of doing basic math and possessing at least a rudimentary understanding of science. Without these skills, they cannot hope to be productive and well-informed citizens who are able to support themselves.”
As Ms. Hollis points out, without the basic skills (which form the basis for analytical thought) the American student cannot be truly productive or well-informed. Who benefits from the manipulation of children into unquestioning minds, willing to follow the “better informed”? Look no further than the massive federal bureaucracy and the actors that feed from it.
Cases in point include NASA promoting global climate Armageddon and the NEA pushing Critical Race Theory on K-12 students. The affected students include FIVE YEAR OLDS! They mastered toilet training just a year earlier but the Feds fully expect to frighten their unprepared minds into acceptance of climate change worship and guilt trip their unformed personages to believe they hate other kids they don’t even know.
Dumbing down the citizenry through the public school system is vital for the federal government to continue overriding “We the People.” This is being implemented through a nationwide effort to curb the necessary skills required for analytical thought. Obviously the classroom is ground zero for this federal objective. The Feds were winning prior to the 2020 “parental awakening” as witnessed by the BLM/CRT/DEI and Climate “Change” riots and demonstrations across the country. Then…America began to wake up.
How Do We Fix This? Local Control!
Fortunately the reclamation of our children’s education is entirely within our means. School districts are overwhelmingly funded by local and state taxes (only about 8% comes from D.C.). Money talks and, in this case, that cash is NOT tied to the federal government. Parents have become energized and are pushing hard for changes in their local school boards. This is a battle we absolutely CAN win!
Whether it is attending board meetings and holding members to task for outrageous positions, home schooling, exercising school choice (if available) or running for open board seats, parents are making their displeasure known with amazing results. Even the FBI is nervous that parents are reclaiming their proper role as guardians.
From an individual parent/child perspective we must keep up the good work of monitoring what our child is taught each day:
- Praise the good and explain why it is so.
- Analyze the questionable with a discussion at the child’s level of understanding.
- The discussions between loving parent and child will always carry greater weight than scare tactics or guilt trips from "authorities".
- Outrageous topics deserve righteous responses from parents.
- Your neighbors are likely allies. Talk with them. There is strength in numbers and school boards are becoming very sensitive about it.
COS Mission and Goals Align With the Battle for Our Schools
- The Convention of States Mission is: “To build an engaged army of self-governing grassroots activists”
- That will aspire to: “…a political and spiritual awakening in America.”
- So we may: “…call the first Article V convention of the states ever in our nation’s history.”
There is no greater reason for an Article V convention than promoting the foundation of self governance: the well-informed citizen.
If you support providing our future citizens with a classical education, devoid of ideology, please consider signing the COS petition and return control to “We the People.” Our children, and our country, depend on you.
