On December 16 the Pennsylvania State Government Committee passed House Resolution 206, calling for a Convention of States to consider amendments to the U.S. Constitution that would impose term limits, fiscal restraints, and other limits on federal power.
This was a crucial first step in the effort to pass legislation in the Pennsylvania House. The vote was 13 to 11, with one member not present to vote.
It is expected that the House will consider the resolution sometime in January 2020.
This first step in the arduous process of passing legislation has taken many years of work by the leadership and a large group of District Captains and volunteers.
Many of these supporters showed up on this cold and rainy day in Harrisburg and, filling the seats in the observer section of the room, impressed committee members with the groundswell of support for the COS resolution.
