Trafalgar Group recently conducted a statewide poll of 935 likely Virginia voters, measuring support for President Trump and Congressional job approval, the Second Amendment, upcoming Virginia General Assembly Election, and the Convention of States. Republicans, Democrats, and Independents were part of this survey.
Constitutional Amendments to Limit Federal Power: Almost two-thirds of likely 2020 Virginia voters—61%--favor the state calling for an Article V convention to propose constitutional amendments that limit federal spending, limit federal power, and establish term limits for Congress and/or federal judges.
Majorities of all three voting blocs support such a Convention of States, including 70% of likely Republican voters, 57% of likely Democrat voters, and 53% of Other likely voters.
Commenting on the survey, Mark Meckler, President of Convention of States Action said, “The obstinance by career politicians in Washington, D.C. to even consider tackling America’s pressing issues such as budget, debt and waste presents an opportunity for the States to step in. Virginia voters from all parties see clearly that the only way to fix the federal government is for the people, working with their state legislatures to get it done.”
