We at the Convention of States Project have always believed that one of the biggest problems in our country is the unconstitutional power of non-elected bureaucrats to write policies that have the force of law.
"Who gave the FDA and the EPA the right to pass these laws? They don't have that right. Who are they? I didn't elect them. I can't fire them. I can't un-elect them," said Texas Convention of States volunteer Michelle Hodson.
Michelle got involved with the Convention of States movement because she believes Article V can address this problem. Ultimately, she sees a Convention of States as the way to bring power closer to home and shrink the size of government.
"Everybody should want smaller government. Everybody should want local government. Everybody should want the big government out of their lives," she said.
