Liberty-loving Americans across the country are asking: now what?
The Democrats have taken control of the federal government. Joe Biden is set to be sworn in as president, Nancy Pelosi has retained control of the U.S. House, and Kamala Harris will, in essence, control the U.S. Senate.
It's a scary time for those who care about self-government in their communities and states. The Democratic party has made clear that they want to grow the federal government's role in healthcare, education, energy, and the environment. They want to make even more decisions about how Americans live their lives, and they'll stop at nothing to accomplish their agenda.
But now isn't the time to give up. As Mark Meckler explained on a recent appearance on the Vicki McKenna Show, self-governance doesn't depend on what the government gives us.
"Self-governance isn't about what the government gives us. It's about what we take for ourselves," he said. "I'm not looking for anybody to give me the right to govern myself. I'm responsible for myself and my family. I'm responsible for what goes on in my community and my state. And I'm responsible for what goes on in the federal government."
"That means there is no quit. If you're a self-governing citizen, then you constantly strive to be engaged in the process and for what's right."
A Convention of States is the only real solution to federal overreach. As Mark explains, a Convention of States can propose constitutional amendments that limit the power, scope, and jurisdiction of the federal government. These amendments can strip power away from Washington and return it where it belongs: with the people and the states.
