Big Tech's campaign to silence dissenting voices reached a fever pitch last week when a so-called "whistleblower" went after Facebook for facilitating the riots in Washington on January 6.
It might seem like this "whistleblower" is trying to harm Facebook, but in fact, the opposite is true.
As Convention of States Action President Mark Meckler recently explained on Gov. Mike Huckabee's television show, Facebook would like nothing more than for Congress to regulate it. That way, the Democratic party can dictate their censorship of conservative speech, and they don't have to craft those policies themselves.
"They want the Democratic Party and Big Tech to be absolutely wed so that they can control what you and I can say," Mark said.
What's the solution to this mess? Mark offered several suggestions, but our most powerful tool against an overreaching federal government will always be an Article V Convention of States.
A Convention of States can rein in federal overreach by proposing amendments that expressly limit the power, scope, and jurisdiction of the federal government. These amendments can ensure that Washington does not have the power to restrict our speech.
The First Amendment is among the most important bulwarks against tyranny we possess. Let's protect it by calling an Article V Convention of States.
