As detailed in "The thoroughly avoidable border crisis is a humanitarian disaster for children" post on April 19, here comes yet another story published on April 28 at localdvm.com entitled "Montgomery County to take in unaccompanied minors."
According to the article, Montgomery County of Maryland has already taken in excess of 100 "unaccompanied minors" from the border this year and plans to take in hundreds more. MoCo is one of the top 10 relocation destinations in the country for children abandoned at the border.
As posited in the April 19 post, who is paying for this generosity? At what cost to the children and school system in MoCo? And what will be the human toll on a community already under the stress of a pandemic with closed schools and businesses?
Moreover, who in Maryland or Montgomery County voted for this? Maryland already ranks in the top 10 among states spending the most on illegal immigration, ahead of Arizona and Nevada. Congratulations, Annapolis.
