It's been awhile since we've seen Mark so fired up.
In his latest Battlecry episode, Convention of States Action President Mark Meckler reviewed a viral video showing a woman being tased by a police officer for not wearing a mask.
"What country do we live in?" Mark asked. "Where the hell is this? It's in Ohio, the heartland of America. It's insanity."
Mark was clear that resisting arrest is never a good idea -- no matter how asinine the laws are.
But this incident speaks to a larger issue about where we are as a society and a country. Have we lost our rights of self-governance so much that we can't make our own decisions about our health? Do we distrust our fellow citizens so much that we can't sit in an outdoor stadium, by ourselves, without wearing a mask?
We need a self-governance revival in our country, and it starts with We the People asserting our constitutional right to call an Article V Convention of States.
A Convention of States is called and controlled by the states and has the power to propose constitutional amendments that restore our God-given right to govern ourselves. We've become too dependent on the government, too willing to give up our rights for a little safety, and too complacent when our elected officials grab more power for themselves.
A Convention of States will shrink the size, scope, and jurisdiction of the government and restore power where it belongs -- with the people and the states. It will force all Americans to consider the role of government in their own lives, and decide for themselves who should make the laws under which they live.
Already, over four million people have seen the vision of a self-governing America. Fifteen states have called for a Convention of States, and we're introducing the Convention of States Resolution in dozens of additional states this year.
