If you've been looking for a basic primer on the Convention of States movement and the latest progress update, you've come to the right place!
Convention of States Action President Mark Meckler recently appeared on WHKY to give listeners a brief outline of the Convention of States strategy and the latest update from around the country.
As Mark explains, the Article V process isn't new or unknown. All amendments so far have been proposed by Congress. But Article V provides another way to propose amendments via a meeting of the states, or a Convention of States.
At this Convention, the states gather to propose amendments that limit federal power, spending, and terms of office. These amendments are then sent back to the states, and 38 states must agree on any amendment proposal to officially ratify the Constitution.
The most exciting part? As Mark points out, we're almost halfway to calling a Convention.
