The Convention of States grassroots movement in Colorado is primed for an action-packed week in the fight for liberty, complete with a legislative hearing in the Colorado state House and a Capitol Rally with COS President and co-founder Mark Meckler.
“The Colorado team has been working strong this year, connecting with new legislators — seeking a sponsor for the COS resolution and succeeding,” lauded “Wild West” Regional Director Deanna Becket.
“HJR24-1024 will have a hearing the same week of the rally,” she added. “Denver will hear the passion in the voices of our grassroots activists both in the hearing room and on the capitol steps.”
The flurry of activities begins on April 22, 2024, with the Colorado House Committee on State, Civic, Military, and Veterans Affairs hosting a hearing on the Convention of States application for an Article V convention. This pivotal step in the legislative process will feature live, in-person testimony from supporters of the resolution.
Just three days later, on April 25, at 11:00 a.m. MT, the grassroots will reconvene at the capitol for their 2024 Rally event. Gathering on the West Steps of the capitol building in Denver, located at 200 E Colfax Ave, they will raise awareness about the nationwide momentum behind the push for an Article V convention. With over 54,000 petition signers in Colorado alone, many of whom actively advocated for COS on the opening day of the legislative session, the pressure on the state General Assembly is significant.
“The COS grassroots in Colorado want this to happen,” expressed Mark Meckler, a headline speaker at the upcoming rally in Denver. “Over 54,000 petition signers in the state have contributed their voices to the chorus of calls for an Article V convention. I am honored to stand alongside them as we present this timely message to their state legislators: the time to act is now!”
