Ever since reading Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, I have been perplexed, perhaps tormented, by the question of how a civilized society could let that holocaust happen. Sixty years later I am beginning to see the answer. Evil happens when good people do nothing.
We’ve all heard these common excuses:
° I don’t watch the news, it’s all negative.
° What can I do? I’m only one person.
° Only lawyers can understand politics.
° That’s just a conspiracy theory.
° It’s just too complicated.
So, I am asking you, Is defending liberty too much trouble? In People of the Lie (Touchstone, 1983) eminent psychiatrist Dr. M. Scott Peck investigates evil. He theorizes that human laziness and pathological narcissism are the breeding ground for evil. Laziness exists when involved citizenship is seen as just too much trouble.
“We all had our lives to lead – doing our day-to-day jobs, buying new cars, painting the houses, sending our kids to college. As the majority of members of any group are content to let the leadership be exercised by a few, so as a citizenry we were content to let the government ‘do its thing'.” (p 242)
Dr. Peck examines the role of 1960s American culture in abetting group evil during the Vietnam war. Similar ethical dilemmas and realities of human nature have caused many other sad moral breakdowns throughout history. He warns that it could happen again.
Our founding fathers knew that democracy and our republic would require courage, sacrifice, and hard work. Article V is the proper legal path to restore liberty, but we will not save our republic without you, a vibrant grassroots army of engaged citizen activists.
We can’t just vote and assume elected officials will do the right thing because humans are not objective about what the right thing is. Sometimes we ignore evidence because criticism of any kind is too painful to endure. This extreme narcissism that Dr. Peck points out as a cause of evil manifests as our inability to admit we are wrong.
When leaders are unable to honor the truth or balance right and wrong, citizens need to speak up against the lies. We can no longer depend on our leaders to follow the moral compass outlined in our Constitution.
Our liberties are in jeopardy when:
° We are not allowed to make our own vaccination decisions
° Media is allowed to censor open debate and free speech
° Proof of citizenship is not required to vote
° Federal government fails to secure our national borders
° Citizens are taxed to support illegal aliens and corrupt projects
° Race is more important than merit
° Black Lives Matter and January 6 protestors are not equal before the law.
If you are willing to take the next step, the team is willing to guide you with the tools and resources to defend liberty.
Things to do:
- Go to COS University to understand your history and your risks
- Attend your city and county commission meetings and learn what is going on
- Ask your local representatives who supports illegal aliens in your community
- Find out which, history or critical race theory, is being taught in your local schools
- Question the contents of your newspaper or media; write letters to the editor
- Live your own individual values of truth, family, faith, and self-reliance.
Encourage your friends, family, and neighbors not only to sign the petition to call a Convention of States, but also to join our grassroots army.
Signing the petition is a low-risk way to speak up and stand up for America. Information you put on the petition goes directly to your elected officials to indicate that We the People support the COS plan for restraining federal government.
