Is anyone home at the White House? Majority of Americans say Biden not running country

Published in Blog on July 06, 2021 by Article V Patriot

Is anyone home at the White House? According to a majority of Americans, the answer is a definite, "No."

Nearly 57% of Americans surveyed in a recent Convention of States Action/Trafalgar poll say that President Joe Biden isn't calling the shots in our nation's highest office. According to these Americans, other people in Washington are executing the duties of the president while Biden remains the public face of the executive branch.

“President Lincoln’s famous refrain that you can’t fool all of the people all of the time has never been more relevant and critical to the survival of our American Republic. The American people deserve honesty and transparency from the Biden Administration as to the true state of the President’s mental and physical health, and leaders in both parties in Congress need to follow through on this immediately, ” said Mark Meckler, President of Convention of States Action. “The continued failure to ask hard questions and demand real answers is a disgrace to the very foundation of our democracy.”

Here are the numbers broken down by party:

  • 56.5% of American voters do not believe that President Biden is fully executing the duties of his office, while 36.4% believe he is directing all policy and agenda
  • 31.7% of Democrat voters do not believe that President Biden is fully executing the duties of his office, while 58.6% believe he is directing all policy and agenda
  • 83.6% of Republican voters do not believe that President Biden is fully executing the duties of his office, while 11% believe he is directing all policy and agenda
  • 58.4% of Independent voters do not believe that President Biden is fully executing the duties of his office, while 36.1% believe he is directing all policy and agenda

Clearly, our country is in trouble. The President appears to be on a steep mental decline while our nation faces foreign enemies abroad, domestic turbulence at home, and severe political and cultural divides. What can Americans do to get our country back on track?

We can start by calling the first-ever Article V Convention of States. Washington is incapable of leading our country into the future. They're mired in politics, corruption, and abuse--not to mention the incapacity of the Commander in Chief. We need to rein in their power and return that power where it belongs: with the people and the states.

A Convention of States is called and controlled by the states and has the power to propose constitutional amendments that limit the power, scope, and jurisdiction of the federal government. Biden's decline is so worrisome because he wield enormous power over our daily lives. If we can shrink the power of the executive branch, these situations will be far less damaging to our country's future, and We the People won't have to worry so much about a single politician ruining the nation we love.

Over five million Americans have voiced their support and 15 states are on board. To help make sure your state calls for a Convention of States, sign the petition below!

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
