INFURIATING: Pentagon refuses to deploy or pay thousands of National Guardsmen who haven’t received at least two COVID-19 vaccine shots

Published in Blog on September 01, 2022 by Jakob Fay

Congressman Micahel Waltz, a former Green Beret, is furious that the Pentagon is refusing to lift its COVID-19 vaccine mandate which has kept thousands of National Guard troops without pay since June.

Per 2021 vaccine policies, Guardsmen who did not receive two COVID-19 vaccine shots by June would be “barred from… federally-funded deployments and receiving pay” and “participating in training exercises.”

“The Department of Defense is in the process of separating from active service hundreds of highly trained and specialized service members such as aviators and special operators that our nation has invested millions of dollars and years in training,” Waltz wrote in a letter to the Secretary of Defense.

“Approximately 45,000 National Guardsmen are unable to participate in crucial training in support of their federal missions due to a vaccine mandate that does not slow the spread of... COVID-19. All of this is happening with the backdrop of a recruiting and retention crisis the military services have not seen in decades.”

Waltz further pointed out that even the Center for Disease Control (CDC) has admitted many COVID guidelines are no longer necessary as the general public has greater immunity to the virus.

“At a time when our adversaries, including China, are rapidly expanding and modernizing their militaries, why would the Department of Defense continue to implement a policy that decreases military recruitment, retention, and readiness,” he asked.

Joe Biden’s 2021 vaccine mandate, by which he compelled private businesses with more than 100 workers to require that their workers be vaccinated, was hugely controversial. Many slammed the president for forcing Americans to receive the vaccine or lose their jobs, especially since the COVID-19 vaccine was rushed through production.

This detrimental and unconstitutional policy is still affecting tens of thousands of brave Americans who faithfully seek to serve their country in the National Guard. As Representative Waltz argued, this mandate must be ended swiftly.

More than that, we must drain D.C. of the authority to ever do this again. Our Founders knew the federal government would never willingly give up its own power. Now that the federal government possesses - or, at least believes it possesses - the power to lock down the whole country, force us to wear masks, and inject vaccines into our bodies, who knows what it’ll attempt next?

It’s never been more important that we call an Article V Convention of States than now. If you want to restore self-governance back into American politics and rob D.C. of the power to control your life, sign the Convention of States petition below!

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
