The Governor of Alaska, Mike Dunleavy, has added his name to the ever-growing list of patriots who support Convention of States. Dunleavy has been involved in Alaska politics for more than a decade, serving on a school board, then in the state Senate, and now as the state’s 12th governor.
“For far too long,” he explained, “politicians in Washington, D.C. have been exercising more power than they were ever meant to have under our great U.S. Constitution. The centralization of power in our nation’s capital has come at the expense of the states, where our founders knew most of the policymaking should be done. Federal control over state lands and resources is just one example of overreaching that is harmful to the states, our national economy, and the people.”
“The only way to really set things right is to use the power vested in the states under Article V of the Constitution," continued Dunleavy. "Through a convention for proposing amendments, the states can clarify or set additional boundaries on Congress, the President, administrative agencies, and the courts.”
“I support the Convention of States Action and its effort to convene the states to propose amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on Washington, D.C., limit its power and jurisdictions, and set term limits for federal officials. It is time for the states to act.”
“I am proud that Alaska applied for a convention for these purposes back in 2014, and I urge our sister states to act now.”
We are honored to receive Gov. Dunleavy’s endorsement in our fight to end federal tyranny and push power back to the states. Dunleavy is joined by many nationally-recognized figures, including Gov. Ron DeSantis, Mark Levin, Mark Meadows, Michael Farris, and many more, in his support of Article V.
