The average American spends $300 per month eating out, $288 on entertainment, and over $92 on coffee. Yet, for all our expenses, there’s one important expenditure most of us forget about — investing into our country.

Freedom isn’t free, and while we typically associate those words with the men and women who risk their lives on the battlefield, they also apply to our finances.

Building the largest grassroots army of self-governing activists in American history and then employing that army into the heat of the battle isn’t exactly cheap. Of course, time is an invaluable resource. But so is money.

When the Founders signed the Declaration of Independence, they knew that liberty could not be obtained without a significant investment. Indeed, many throughout our history have given so much more than just money; they have laid down their lives. Row upon row of white stone at Arlington and hundreds of other military cemeteries across the nation attest to the staggering price of freedom.

What value do we place on this freedom?

Our mission is to unite 10,000 patriots pledging just $1 daily — equivalent to $31 monthly, a mere third of what most Americans spend on coffee.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention.
