Virginia's Shenandoah region has seen amazing growth of Constitution of States supporters thanks to the dedication of Regional Captain James Peters whose simple challenge to one person quickly grew a team.
After learning that Bill had some questions about COS, Jim gave him a call. After an hour long discussion a chain of amazing events unfolded. Jim recalls:
I challenged Bill to get a group of his friends together in Woodstock and I told him I would come and present COS to the group.
Bill contacted a large group of people and at that first meeting in March 28, 2023 we had about 30 people attend. I gave a presentation introducing the group to COS.
There were many questions, they took the literature I provided, and a number of the people who attended signed the COS petition online in the week that followed.
Bill said, "We need to have another one of these meetings each month." I asked him to set up a place and time and I would come back for another meeting.
Our next meeting was held at the Edinburg Fire Hall on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 with about 25 in attendance.
One of the people who had attended our meetings was Keith who owns the Comfort Inn Woodstock Shenandoah.
Keith graciously is now providing the hotel's meeting room for our monthly COS meeting in Woodstock each second Tuesday of the month.
Tuesday, August 8, 2023 was our first meeting at the Comfort Inn with about 25 people in attendance.
Our next meeting was held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

I had purchased a new video screen/TV to show some of the COS videos but was not able to get an internet connection so I opened that meeting by telling the group about COS with about half of the group attending for the first time.

Petition your state legislator
Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.
What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.
I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.
I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here:
