Green energy fiasco: Prepare for power shortages & possible blackouts this summer

Published in Blog on May 23, 2022 by Brianna Kraemer

Energy supply shortages are expected to cause outages in several power markets across the U.S. this summer after the nation’s energy production has significantly transitioned to green – and unreliable – resources like wind and solar.

Unfortunately, a summer of rolling blackouts fits the direction the Biden administration has taken our nation over the past year. Americans are already dealing with plenty of unwanted chaos with gas prices now over $4 on average, grocery store items sporadic and inflation at a record high.

The one thing we thought we could rely on was lights and AC in our homes. But nope – that luxury can no longer be expected thanks to a lack of product availability – energy shortfalls.

The midwest power market, called Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), which covers parts of 15 states north to south, has warned of “insufficient firm resources” that indicate future capacity shortfalls and outages in normal conditions.

The market stands in a high-risk situation heading into the hot months of the year, but several other regions remain at an elevated risk as well. These markets include almost all areas west of the Mississippi River, the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) warned this month.

While the mainstream media is attempting to cover up the instability of green energy by attributing the coming outages to heat waves and rising temperatures, the fact stands that under normal weather conditions, problems are still expected to arise.

So what has changed? Energy companies across the nation have been subsidized by the government to shift to green energy production. Meanwhile, many oil, gas and coal power plants have been retired. The government is helping to create unreliable energy options that leave citizens dependent and either foreign supplies or in the hands of mother nature.

We need to be energy independent and the Democrat-controlled government is forcing all of us to shift our reliance onto things that simply don’t work.

A Convention of States is what can stop the federal government from ruining our lives and taking away our independence. Article V in the Constitution allows all 50 states to come together to make changes to the federal government.

By holding a convention, we can not just limit the power of the federal government but implement term limits and require fiscal responsibility.

Our nation is in dire need of help and you can be a part of the solution by signing the petition in support of Convention of States below.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
