The politicians in Washington think they're better than us.
The latest evidence comes from San Francisco, where Rep. Nancy Pelosi ordered a hair salon to open up (against local ordinances) so she could get her hair done without wearing a mask (also against local ordinances).
Fox News broke the story, and they spoke with the salon owner, Erica Kious.
“It was a slap in the face that she went in, you know, that she feels that she can just go and get her stuff done while no one else can go in, and I can’t work,” Kious told Fox News, adding that she “can’t believe” the speaker didn’t have a mask on.
“We’re supposed to look up to this woman, right?” Kious said. “It is just disturbing.”
Why do our federal politicians pass laws and promote policies they're not willing to follow? Because they believe they're invincible. They understand the enormous power and wealth that comes with holding office in D.C., and they think they can use that influence to get away with breaking the law, wasting our money, and abusing their position.
It's time to remind our "leaders" in Washington who they work for.
We won't do it by electing better politicians to Washington. President Trump is the ultimate outsider, and while he's moved the needle towards freedom, he doesn't have the power to truly drain the swamp.
That's why millions of Americans have voiced their support for the Article V Convention of States movement.
A Convention of States can propose constitutional amendments that shift the balance of power from the federal governments to state and local governments. These amendments can significantly restrict federal authority and jurisdiction, and return D.C. to the founders' vision of a small, limited government.
With these amendments in place, politicians like Nancy Pelosi will find themselves stripped of much of their power and influence -- and will be much less likely to lord their authority over the American people.
