“If fear is cultivated, it will become stronger; if faith is cultivated, it will achieve mastery.” John Paul Jones

“An Article V Convention is a “Convention of the States” and is therefore endowed with the powers of an interstate convention”  Smith v. Union Bank of Georgetown, 30 U.S. 518 (1831)

The opposition arguments center around creating fear, precisely the tactics that allow progressivism to evolve. A brief look back at Progressivism helps illuminate that strategy.

Progressivism has existed under a litany of different names since the late 1800s. Espoused by many famous and not-so-famous practitioners through the centuries: Engles, Marx, Owen, Guillard, London, and Shaw, to name a few. Its roots can be traced back to the 1200s, but the first organized movement, The Fabian Society, was founded in London in 1884.

The “Progressives” in this country have been here for well over one hundred years; the Progressive Party, originally “The Bull Moose Party,” was established during the lead-up to the 1912 presidential Republican Primary.

Progressives have been rewriting history, using racial conflict, promoting class warfare, and actively sabotaging the moral fiber and family structure of this nation to move each successive generation further and further away from the principles this country was founded on.

Why? In simplest terms, it alienates the next generation from a virtuous and industrious society guided by the principles of God, Family, and Country, making them indoctrinated to adopt their Godless, lawless, and destructive beliefs as gospel.

The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.”George Orwell

How does this affect the efforts to call an Article V convention of states for proposing amendments?

Baseless fears are spread by any means necessary to undermine the effort to strengthen the Constitution so the usurped power concentrated in DC will remain there.

This includes the argument that ‘we don’t know what would happen; an Article V convention has never been called.’

We must examine the historical records to find the truth. The United States has extensive experience using interstate conventions to settle disputes or negotiate a mutually agreed-upon settlement.

There have been 42 conventions of state held in this country. Progressives have been actively ignoring, erasing, and rewriting history so we would forget.

We must educate ourselves on our true history, not the revisionist version they have created.

Historical Conventions of States:

The same guidelines have governed all of the interstate conventions:

  • Topics of discussion were limited to the call for the convention
  • States issued instructions to the delegates that stipulated conduct
  • Each state had equal voting representation
  • None strayed from the limits of the call; not one “runaway” ever

The United States has centuries of experience with interstate conventions.

Allowing it to be erased and rewritten to fit the left’s narrative is a victory for the opposition.

As Americans, we must demand of ourselves that we be informed and engaged. It is vital that you do your research. Remember the left's playbook, and decide for yourself what is true.

COSA PA knows that facts and the actual historical record can resolve and eliminate any misconception and threat that fearful opposition and the left employ.
