Many COS supporters know that an Article V convention is a solution as big as the problem. In the words of Jim DeMint, senior advisor for Convention of States:
"We don't need a revolution. We have Article V."
It's the radical Left that needs a revolution. They are the ones who need to change how America thinks, what America is, and who is in charge of America. In the words of Joe Biden:
"...fundamentally transform the country."
It's the COS patriots who are operating within the Founder's vision, and together we can save America. But if there's one history lesson every activist, soldier, politician, and patriot should learn, it's this: never underestimate your opponent.
We would be dangerously naïve to think that a power-hungry, money-grubbing, godless oligarchy is just going to lay down all their ill-gotten goods. They're going to fight back, and they're going to fight dirty.
So what's the battle plan to combat these devious schemes? Fight fire with fire? It may be effective in the short run, but in combating the enemy, we must not allow ourselves to become the enemy. Matching lies with lies just means there's more lies.
The truth is on our side, the facts are in our camp, and the enemy knows it. But how can we recognize all the fiction they will concoct to discredit Article V? The answer is: we don't.
When a police officer or federal agent is tasked with identifying counterfeit money, do they memorize every single falsified bill in the world? Of course not. Such a task would be impossible. Instead, they memorize the real bills. They learn by heart every detail of the authentic currency, i.e. the truth, so no matter how many frauds and counterfeits come along, they'll be recognized instantly.
We should take the same action with Article V. The opposition will use every trick in the book and more to try and discredit and malign us. We can't be prepared for every argument. So instead, we must have intimate knowledge of the truth of a Convention of States, which is found in the Constitution, our nation's early history, and of course, right here on conventionofstates.com.
This is the truth: Article V was put in the Constitution to give the people the ability to combat an overreaching and tyrannical federal government, and an army of grassroots patriots is now using that tool to take back our freedom, and restore a system of self-governance. Article V is the last, best hope for America.
Don't know your enemy. Know the truth, and the truth will reveal your enemies to you.
