“Join me in choosing faith in the process that the Founding Fathers left We the People,” New Hampshire State Rep. Linda Massimilla said on the House floor.
As a Democrat, Massimilla saw beyond party politics and advocated for a solution to a bipartisan problem: the federal government's power abuses.
Power and authority impact human nature, which we see today in Washington, D.C. Checks and balances in the system are required in order to counter excessive control. Thankfully, the Founders provided a method that enables the people to act when Congress refuses to work on the concerns of We the People.
“Both faith and fear ask us to believe in something that we cannot see, and leaves the choice up to us,” she said. “The Founding Fathers had faith, that future generations would use Article V wisely and only when necessary.”
She concluded her speech by telling her colleagues to join her in supporting the bipartisan committee recommendation to pass the Convention of States Resolution.
