Covering a County Fair in NJ is very fruitful

Published in Blog Hottest Parent Page on August 28, 2024 by Francesca Angela Nordin

COS New Jersey sponsored a table at the 2024 Monmouth County Fair. This is a five-day event that took place at the East Freehold Showgrounds on the evenings of July 24-26 and all day on July 27 and 28. Approximately 90,000 people attended this great fair, with 29,000 on Saturday alone; 275 petitions for an Article V convention were signed (235 on paper and 39 from the event's QR code).

We thank all the volunteers who made this happen over five days, but especially Jeff Norton, District Captain from NJ Legislative District 30, for securing and supervising the event from setup to breakdown and staffing five days of coverage. Jeff reports:

The team members reported lots of enthusiasm and engagement from attendees of the fair. A young girl recited the Preamble to the Constitution while her parent signed the petition. There were stimulating conversations with young adults who are inquisitive about government and wanting to do more.

Each day the camaraderie grew with each other so the steadfast work to be there so many days also bore fruit amongst our team. This was an effort on the part of 15 volunteers who found the outreach at the fair to be very worthwhile in educating and engaging people who support our cause and America.
