This election is important. There's no denying it. And while the federal government needs long-term checks on its power only a Convention of States can provide, the outcome of November's election will have far-reaching consequences.
Convention of States volunteer and Virginia resident Dennis Dutton understands the importance of voting this year.
“I think it’s a civic duty,” he said in an interview with the Central Shenandoah News. “It’s probably the simplest thing we need to do as citizens, not only understanding our founding and our Constitution but also understand the responsibility that we have as citizens of the United States to vote. That’s how we make our decisions on who is going to govern us and the permission we give to them to govern us.”
Dutton pointed out that the winner of this election will have the power to maintain our current course or move our country ever closer towards big-government socialism.
“I think we should dig deep and really understand what we are voting for,” he said. “I think it’s a difference between the continuation of capitalism and freedom of religion versus moving toward a much more socialistic country, which I don’t want to see.”
He's not wrong. Check out this recently uncovered footage from socialist rallies and protests around the country. Their agenda goes way beyond free college and free healthcare -- they want to destroy our nation and build something totally new in its place.
We need to fight back before these people take over our country. First, we need to elect pro-liberty, pro-COS candidates at the local, state, and national levels.
Then, we need to call a Convention of States.
Only an Article V Convention of States has the power to propose constitutional amendments that limit the power, scope, and jurisdiction of the federal government. These amendments can stop the socialist agenda in its tracks, and restore power where it belongs: with the states and the people.
